The Burmese were master silver workers and high relief repousse bowls are their specialty. This bowl is exceptional, it consist of the bowl which has been hammered to a round and very smooth shape and then the wonderful repousse work on a outer layer that has been masterfully wrapped around the inner bowl. The work is executed so fine that it seems to be one piece and you won't notice it until upon close and careful inspection...

Wide, double-edged blade with thin central raiser, base with two cartouches bearing gold-inlaid inscriptions in Arabic; iron, two-pieces grip with langets, quillons faced towards the blade ending in stylized elephant's heads. Sword bears name of Qujar king Nase-Al-Din Shah on one side and his title on the other. Dating: Mid-19th Century Provenance: Ottoman Empire, Turkey Circular, convex, iron shield provided with four studs with star-shaped base; the surface decorated with silver floral and geometrical motifs. At the inside four suspension rings, two of them with leather handle. Dimensions: Diameter 34.5 cm. No condition issues.

Pair of African carved figures depicting a family with the woman carrying a jar on her head and holding it with the left hand and with the right hand carrying another vessel. The man holding a cane by left hand and his child by his right side. The man figure has a height if 11 inches and woman is 10.25 inches tall standing on a .75 inch wooden base. Description: Fine antique Persian copper bowl, late Quajar period, a band of engraved Persian poem from poet Hafez fallowed by geometrical design. On the base a horse in sitting position with a bird with open wings on the horse's back. This type of bowls was carried by people so every individual had his own bowl and was used for drinking water or wine. Measurements: 1 inches high and 3 3/8 inches in diameter in good condition.
