ZAND DYNASTY (1751-1794). A dynasty that ruled in Persia (excluding Khorasan) from Shiraz, from the time when Nāder Shah’s (r. 1736-47) successors, the Afsharids, failed to recover western Persia until the founding of the Quajar dynasty by Āḡā Moḥammad Khan Quajar. Description: This item is a 18th century Persian copper bowl, decorated with geometric design, there are Arabic script engraved on the interior. The bowl bears the maker's mark engraved on the base. Measurements: 2 inches high and 6.75 inches in diameter. Condition Report: Good condition. For a similar example, see Christie's, April 24, 1990.
